Open the evaluator +- step 01
Pick the folder
Choose ~/.claude/projects or ~/.codex/sessions in the browser file picker.

§03What makes a session valuable
Long, real work with tools in the loop. A two-hour session where an agent ships a feature, hits an error and recovers is the kind buyers ask for.

§04Ground rules
Privacy model +- rule_1
Local first
Counting and redaction run on your machine. Nothing moves until you pick it.
- rule_2
One session at a time
You review every session, redacted, before it leaves. Nothing is uploaded in bulk.
- rule_3
Verified, not trusted
Buyers check sessions against their own logs and pay for the ones they accept.
- rule_4
Your work, your call
You license only sessions you own. Work you did for an employer stays where it is.

Blog +§07Questions
What is groundedby?+
groundedby is a reference on AI coding agent session data - where agents like Claude Code and Codex keep your history, what is inside it, and what it is worth - and an opt-in marketplace in the works where developers license redacted sessions they choose.
Does the evaluator upload my sessions?+
No. The evaluator runs in your browser. It reads the folder you pick, counts sessions, turns, tool calls and active hours, and keeps the result on the page. It works with your network switched off.
Who would pay for agent sessions?+
AI labs and data vendors buy recorded coding sessions to train and evaluate models, and developer-tool companies want to see how agents use their products. In October 2026 Mercor advertised $500, later $200, per accepted 50-turn coding session.
Can I sell sessions from my job?+
Usually not. Work sessions typically belong to your employer and contain their code and data. groundedby will ask every seller to confirm they own the sessions they license, and personal or open-source work is the clean place to start.
When does the marketplace open?+
There is no date yet. Join the waitlist and we will email you when buyers ask for sessions like yours.
